Sebastian Lerch (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie – KIT, Germany) visited our Department in early November 🎃. His research interests include probabilistic forecasting, machine learning, forecast evaluation, and applications in environmental sciences and economics. At the S3 Seminar he gave a very inspiring talk entitled Deep learning models for distributional regression, with applications in weather and energy forecasting, and we spent long hours discussing these topics on the 5th floor of B4.
