On June 13, 2023 a doctoral defense was held at the Faculty of Management. This was the first 1️⃣, historic dissertation defense at the PWr Doctoral School (more here). A week later, the Management and Quality Sciences Discipline Council awarded Bartosz Uniejewski a doctoral degree 👨🎓 with a distinction 🏆 on the basis of his dissertation entitled Forecasting wholesale electricity prices to support decision-making in power companies: Use of regularization and forecast combinations. Congrats to Dr. Uniejewski, the supervisor Rafał Weron and the auxiliary supervisor Katarzyna Maciejowska!

Bartek’s first task right after the defense … was to change a diaper. As befits a doctor, he completed the task in a phenomenal time of 2 minutes and 16 seconds 😉
