On April 7, 2026, the PhD defense of Tomasz Serafin took place at the Faculty of Management. The reviewers – Bogumił Kamiński from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) 🇵🇱 and Fotios Petropoulos from the University of Bath 🇬🇧 (Monika Papież from the Kraków University of Economics 🇵🇱 was unable to attend this time) – were impressed by the ease with which Tomek answered their questions!
The Doctoral Committee, chaired by Grzegorz Chodak, recommended awarding the PhD degree 👨🎓 with a distinction 🏆 on the basis of the dissertation entitled Decision support in energy companies: improving forecast accuracy and evaluating the profitability of battery energy storage systems. We hope that the Management and Quality Sciences Discipline Council chaired by Rafał Michalski (on the photo with Tomek and Rafał Weron) will support this recommendation and Tomek will soon be able to celebrate his degree🎉
Congratulations to Tomek and his supervisor! It is worth noting that this is the 9️⃣th successful viva in Rafał Weron’s team!
