Unite.WIDENING project launched

Raise excellence in R&S&I in HEI for widening countries (Unite.WIDENING) is the next – after the concluded in December 2023 UNITE.H2020 project – program aiming to shape an integrated R&I strategy for the European University Alliance Unite! Within the framework of the HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ACCESS-03 call, a consortium composed of: Universidade de Lisboa (Coordinator), PWr, Politecnico di Torino, TU Graz, TU Darmstadt, INP Grenoble, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Aalto University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology received funds to further raise excellence in science and in knowledge valorization of Alliance universities through increased and interwoven cooperation with Universities from Widening (e.g., Poland and Portugal) and non-Widening countries. The PWr team (Katarzyna Chojnacka, Krzysztof Czajka, Piotr Rutkowski, Katarzyna Weron, Rafał Weron and Barbara Widera) will have at its disposal 1 506 795 EUR (total budget: 4 998 467 EUR).

To emphasize the connection between the two projects, a contextual meeting will be organized on February 1st and 2nd, 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal:

  • February 1st – Unite!Widening Organizational Planning & Kick-Off (the focus is to present the main objective of the project and the principal activities that will be carried out through the work packages of the project),
  • February 2nd – UNITE.H2020 Dissemination Event.
